IN BLOOM
May 2019

The Random Acts of Flowers workshop has been awash in springtime flowers for the last few months, and we have used them to make more than 3,600 deliveries of hope and encouragement in East Tennessee since you last heard from us.

We have some exciting opportunities available if you’d like to participate in our mission this summer and we have some great news to report about our increased efficiencies and focus on the green side of our mission. We hope you’ll read on to find out everything we’ve been up to this spring!

One of the most compelling moments of our 2019 Perennial Society Luncheon
was the testimonial by recipient family member Katy Brockway.
Her family received a delivery during her father’s final days,
and it impacted their lives more than any of us could have expected!

SUPPORTING RAF JUST GOT A LOT MORE SOCIAL!

GREEN LOOKS GOOD ON US

On March 4th, our workshop got a face lift with the replacement of the fluorescent lights with new energy-saving LEDs! We’re so grateful to McGaha Electric and the two anonymous donors who made this amazing upgrade possible. What a difference a Friday makes!

And, just imagine how happy we were when we saw that our electric bill went down by more than 50%! That just means more funds for delivering hope!

We’re so grateful to our green waste partner Lawn Butler Inc. for picking up and re-purposing the parts of our floral donations that we can’t use.

Since starting operations in 2008,
we have recycled
more than
144 TONS
of green waste!
